Formed in 1971 the Te Awahōhonu Forest Trust owns two large scale sheep and beef farms, a 5,869ha of commercial forest, and 10,000ha of pristine native forest. A Board of five Trustees is responsible for protection of the Trust assets on behalf of approximately 1500 owners.
